Templeman Design were appointed by the BCKLWN to reconfigure and re-energise the Customer Information Centre at the council’s headquarters in Kings Lynn. The existing CIC was dated and included a mock 1970’s internal street which was enclosing and lacked good light quality.

Templeman Designs solution was to utilise an existing single storey office space and create a welcoming waiting area using a large lantern for natural light while elevating the space to reduce the oppressiveness of the previous mock street. The refurbishment resulted in the complete ground floor refurbishment of the council offices which included multiple meetings rooms, open plan offices and welfare / breakout facilities. To complete the scheme the front entrance was provided with a large frameless glass system to provide a more welcoming entrance and improve internal light quality.

In addition, following the successful completion of the ground floor refurbishment, Templeman Design was appointed to refurbish floors 1 to 3. This included reorganisation and replacement of partitions, fixtures and finishes to provide a better working environment. The heating system was also upgraded along with thermal improvements to reduce energy consumption of the building.
